Dagaz (ᛞ) means "day" — but not just any moment of day. Dagaz is specifically the threshold moment of dawn: the precise instant when night becomes day, when the sun breaks the horizon, when everything changes. It's the moment of breakthrough, of transformation, of awakening after darkness.
Its shape — like an hourglass or a figure eight laid on its side (∞) — perfectly captures its meaning: the paradoxical threshold where two opposites (night and day, old and new, sleep and waking) touch and transform into each other. This is the moment of quantum change, where one state shifts instantly into another.
Dagaz cannot be reversed. Dawn cannot be un-dawned.
